Emergency Plumbers of London

Privacy policy

This notice explains what happens to personal information you give Emergency Plumbers of London through this website (emergencyplumbersoflondon.co.uk) or by email, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Last updated 28 September 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

Emergency Plumbers of London is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email info@emergencyplumbersoflondon.co.uk.

What we collect

When you use the contact form: your name if you give it, your phone number, your postcode, your email address if you give it, the type of problem you pick, anything you write in the message box, and the page of this website the enquiry was sent from. We also record the date and time the form was sent.

When you email us: your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as photos of a leak or a boiler display.

When a job goes ahead: the address of the property, what was found, what was agreed and paid, and any follow-up correspondence.

When you visit the site: our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. We do not use this to identify you.

Please do not send us payment card details, passwords or health information through the form or by email.

Why we use it, and the legal basis

  • To reply and arrange a visit you asked for. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To carry out the repair, bill for it and deal with any follow-up or complaint. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
  • To keep financial records. Legal basis: complying with legal obligations, including tax law.
  • To keep the website secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

How the contact form works

When you press send, the form is processed by our website host, Cloudflare. Your enquiry is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, a storage service, for 180 days and then deleted automatically. It is also sent to the engineer as a message in a private Telegram chat that only we use to hand out jobs. From there an engineer contacts you by phone or email. Emails you send us are held by our email provider.

Who else handles your data

We share your details only with the people and services needed to do the job:

  • the engineer who attends, so they can contact you and find the property
  • Cloudflare, which hosts this website, processes the contact form and stores form enquiries
  • Telegram, which carries form messages to us
  • our email provider, which stores email correspondence
  • our accountant or HM Revenue and Customs, where the law requires it

Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the provider’s standard contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • The stored copy of a contact form enquiry: deleted automatically 180 days after it was sent.
  • Other enquiry records that do not lead to a visit, such as emails and the Telegram message: deleted within 12 months.
  • Records of jobs carried out, including invoices: kept for six years after the end of the financial year the job falls in, to meet tax rules and to deal with any later claim.

You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner, at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • have anything inaccurate corrected
  • have your data deleted where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
  • receive data you gave us in a format you can pass to someone else

To use any of these rights, email info@emergencyplumbersoflondon.co.uk. It is free, and we will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

The homepage shows a Google map of the area we cover. It loads when you scroll near it, and once it loads Google may set its own cookies, which can stay on your device, and receive your IP address, under Google’s privacy policy. The rest of the site does not load anything from Google.

When you send the form, the phone number and postcode you typed are kept in your own browser tab’s sessionStorage, so the confirmation page can show them back to you. The site also keeps the last page you viewed there, so an enquiry can say which page it came from. This stays on your device, is not a cookie and is cleared when you close the tab.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. The terms of service cover how bookings, prices and complaints work.
